Robert Thwaites

Robert Thwaites passed away peacefully on July 26, 2021 at the age of 89 years.

He will be remembered and sadly missed by his wife, Caroline Rohel; children, Garry Thwaites (Kim Vongrad) and Diane (Brady) Knezacek of Oliver, BC; as well as five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Sadly predeceased by his wife of almost 60 years, Elsie (Lambert) Thwaites, his parents, his siblings and their spouses.

Bob Thwaites will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.  He always lived life to the fullest and always worked hard to provide for his family.  Bob was a professional driver and instructor for Greyhound Lines of Canada.  After a 40 year career primarily in Saskatchewan Bob retired to the sunny Okanagan in 1991. 

His children fondly remember his love for boating and fishing in Saskatchewan when they were younger.  His 5 grandchildren Valene, Crystal (Dean), Brianne (Dylan), Lindsay and Robert (Hannah) and 4 great-grandchildren remember their grandpas humour and many talents. Bob had a passion and talent for carpentry and gardening sharing his creations with his whole family and many friends, which included designing and building many homes.  

After Elsies passing he was blessed to find companionship and love again with Caroline.  They shared 6 wonderful years together and just celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary.  They spent many hours doing puzzles, playing games, adult colouring, camping and visiting their many friends and family. 

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, with attendance contingent on Covid-19 regulations.
