Mary Turkovics

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Turkovics, on January 17th, 2022, at the age of 93. She will be lovingly missed by her children, Frank (Amy), Rita (Brian); her grandchildren, Seth (Samantha), Amy, Emily, Bryan; and her great-grandchildren, Rykher and Sinead. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Frank; daughter-in-law, Shelagh and beloved granddaughter, Maylysse.

Mary will be remembered as a wonderful mom and the world’s best grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her reputation for warm hospitality and delicious food preceded her. Mary loved spending time outside tending to her beautiful flower garden and bountiful vegetable garden. Alongside her husband Frank they spent much of their time fostering lifelong friendships within the Okanagan Hungarian Society. She passed time creating beautiful cross-stitch pieces and praying with her Rosary. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Peter Warren for the exceptional care of Mary. His kindness, dedication and compassion meant the world to Mary and her family.

Prayers will be held on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. and her Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 26th at 11:00 a.m. both located at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in West Kelowna. The interment will take place at Westbank Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.
