Diane Stemler, 58, of West Kelowna, passed March 22, 2024, surrounded by family after a brief battle with metastasized breast cancer in her bones and liver.
She was born to parents Sharie Randall and Joe Stemler on August 11, 1965, in Kamloops, BC. Diane attended Stelly's Secondary School in Saanich, BC.
She married Mark Rennie on July 17, 1999, and together they had two beautiful daughters that they raised in New Westminster, BC. They were married for 10 years and remained good friends. On July 27, 2019, Diane married her best friend, Lee Horton. Diane is survived by her mother, Sharie; stepfather, Sandy; father, Joe; her husband, Lee; sister Janice (Charles); daughters Stephanie (Raymond) and Alissa (Andrew); grandchildren Benjamin and Beckham; step-siblings Nicole Meredith, Brad Donaldson, Kimberly Randall and Tina DeNeef, as well as many other close family members and friends. She is predeceased by her stepfather, Dallas Randall; stepmother, Frankie Stemler and stepbrother Bryan Randall.
Diane was a caring wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, colleague and boss. She lived to create new memories with family and friends, always putting her daughters first. She worked at the Best Western Coquitlam Inn for over 25 years before starting at Waste Connections. Diane was a committed, loyal, and beloved employee and manager. Diane & Lee retired to their new home in West Kelowna in 2023 to make memories with her immediate family and grand babies.
The celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at 12:30 p.m. at The Cove in West Kelowna. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in Diane’s name to the palliative care team at Hospice House Central Okanagan by clicking here (www.hospicehousekelowna.ca).
