Isabelle Frances Goerzen

It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Isabelle Frances Goerzen on June 1, 2019 in Westbank, BC at the age of 84.

Isabelle was born and raised in Winnipegosis Manitoba (and yes, this is a real place). At the age of 20, she moved to Calgary, AB where a year later she met and married her best friend, Jake Goerzen on June 15, 1957. They had 3 beautiful girls; Patricia, Teresa and Jacklyn. They retired in 1983 and moved to Westbank, BC where they enjoyed traveling, gardening and relaxing while enjoying their view of Lake Okanagan.

Isabelle was many things to many people, a friend, a mother, a wife and a grandmother. Her favorite hobbies were cross-stitching and crocheting when she wasn’t cooking or canning. She enjoyed her sewing clubs and going to bingo with her best friends. Isabelle worked at Interior Health for 10 years taking care of seniors and loved her job.

She was predeceased by her husband Jacob Henry Goerzen and her daughter Teresa Ann (Goerzen) Vickery. Isabelle will be missed by her eldest daughter Patricia (Goerzen) Giles and youngest daughter; Jacklyn Goerzen, grandchildren; Rebecca Just, Stephanie (Vickery) Wright and Jacob Giles and her great-grandchildren; Sophie and Thomas.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday June 11, 2019 at Hansons Funeral Chapel – 2541 Churchill Road, West Kelowna, BC. Interment will follow at Westbank Cemetery. There will be a gathering at her home following interment.
